President Theodore Roosevelt owned a gray cat with six toes on each paw, named Slippers. Slippers was among TR's favorite pets and was allowed to appear at diplomatic dinners.

 In the animal kingdom, only that of monkeys and chimps surpasses the cat’s IQ. (It's a toss up when it comes to humans!)
